Questions people may ask

Frequently asked questions

This section is based on what is known so far and will be updated as the project develops.

Is the pub definitely being bought?

Not yet. The community is exploring the possibility of buying The Farmers Arms and bringing it back into use as a community hub. The next steps include working groups, building checks, business planning and funding discussions.

Who is organising this?

A group of local residents and volunteers are helping to move the project forward. Working groups are now forming to look at finance, property, marketing, events, administration and community involvement.

Can I help?

Yes. Offers of help are very welcome, whether practical, professional, creative, financial, administrative or simply supportive.

Do I need professional skills to get involved?

No. Professional skills are useful, but so are practical help, local knowledge, event support, fundraising ideas, admin help, gardening, maintenance, publicity and general encouragement.

What happens next?

The immediate next step is to form working groups, gather information, assess the building and develop a realistic plan for the future of the pub.

Will there be community shares?

That has not been confirmed yet. Funding options will be explored as the project develops, and the community will be updated when there is more detail.

Is this just about reopening a pub?

No. The aim is broader than simply reopening a bar. The hope is to create a welcoming community hub that could support village life, events, social activities and local connection.

How can I stay updated?

People can check the website, offer their skills through the online form, or email the campaign to receive updates.

Can people outside Wellington Heath help?

Yes. Anyone who cares about The Farmers Arms or wants to support the campaign can get involved.

Where can I send questions?

Questions can be sent to the campaign email address shown on the website.
